Q: What are the main factors that influence a plan being approved or not?
A: Making sure that the proposal is using the right type of application and if there have been approvals for similar applications in the area. We always do planning research.
Q: If a project is refused, what does the client have to do or what does Summit do in order to get it approved?
A: Depending on the reasoning behind the refusal, we will usually amend the plans using the information we have learned from the refusal, in order to submit an application to suit the council – as applications might get approved by one council but get a refusal at another council.
Q: How long does it take for a plan to get approved?
A: Once an application has been validated, the decision date would be eight weeks after that. Some councils take longer than eight weeks but when that happens, they will usually ask for an extension. When a council requests an extension, it is usually out of courtesy and we usually have to accept it.
